Google’s Tube Updates
Over the past year, we have seen Google incorporate a number of different elements to their ever-growing digital presence. The latest being Google’s live updates of London Underground’s Tube network on your mobile.
That’s right, you are now able to track via Google on your mobile device and see live Tube updates while trying to navigate your way around the capital (provided you aren’t actually on the tube at the time).
Reading about this development on last night’s edition of the Evening Standard - whilst on the Tube itself, I was intrigued to see how this new service would work.
With a promise of updates every 30 seconds, aiming to stop confusion amongst visitors during this summer’s Olympic Games, I was left wondering if visitors will be able to find it either? I am intrigued to see how this will work in real life, especially as most tourists seem to be more confused with the deeper into the underground network they go, where there will be no signal.
