The I Spy University Launch

Chris Whitelaw, President of I Spy Marketing

“Learning is what most adults will do for a living in the 21st century.” – Perelman

I Spy has launched the most comprehensive training program in our industry – the I Spy University. The investment in the I Spy Uni is significant (we have quadrupled our training budget in a time when other agencies are reducing investment in their people). Our people are our agency and to invest in their futures is to invest in our agency’s future.

The goals of the I Spy Uni are to provide the most relevant training possible to all team members, develop students skills and expertise to deliver even better results for client’s campaigns, gain external qualifications and provide better training opportunities than any other agency to our people.

The I Spy Uni is structured around core modules (everybody in the agency participates), product majors (eg. specialist training in natural search optimisation) and electives (voluntary modules to quench that thirst for knowledge in a specific area. eg Photoshop). There are over 150 modules being offered to team members and the modules are as varied as keyword research training to advanced analytics training to presentation skills to wine tasting.

The modules will be delivered to the team as combination of internal instruction by our Faculty Dean’s (aka Group Account Directors), an impressive line-up of external training consultants and external qualifications. External qualifications gained will include Google qualifications, the IPA Foundation Certificate for understanding of the entire brand communications process and the newly launched IPA Search Certificate.

The commitment to providing our team members an abundance of training opportunities and qualifications is essential to ensure we attract brilliant people, develop and therefore retain our talented people and ultimately have the brightest people in the industry delivering the best results for our clients.

Sounds like a great idea. Nice to see some serious investment in staff.

Can’t imagine where the wine tasting module came from or who will be running that one!
